I've never heard something of "Rise of the Argonauts" before so I took it as it came. The theme track "Rise of the Argonauts" is truly epic. Pure atmosphere! "Broken Union" is appeasing and heady at the same time. A beautiful clear voice mixed with heavy drums. Reminds me of some Lineage II tracks. Both are still great. The OST comes with a big and long arsenal of melodious compositions. They're all in all pretty good composed but they can be too reposeful in the long run.
The sitar, which is used a few times, has some very nice parts in some tracks such as in "Fiends of Tartarus" and "Aegean Peace". Some parts of the soundtrack like "Clash of Champions", "Battle on the Bloody Plains", "Ring of Virtues" and "Fiends of Tartarus" are pretty much converse in comparison to the rest of the album. So they're the balance between strong rhythm and drum tracks and melodious tracks. The ending "Myth Makers" is kick-ass. It's cinema at its most epic!

Game Music Hall Score: 8,1

This soundtrack is like a little journey. It doesn't need much to feel like in another time. If you like oriental music then you will love it. For some people it could be boring from time to time because the pulsative tracks are rare and bad distributed. Anyway it's good to chill a bit in the evenings. Well, in the end I can say that the soundtrack has its moments. The theme and the ending are awesome. I just didn't like the similar sounding tracks. More variety next time Mr Bates! Anyway the atmosphere is existent and lovely. Good standard!
