Skate's score is composed of tracks by Tommy Guerrero (TG), XXXChange (XC) and Z-Trip (ZT). Guerrero opens up with "follow none". A smart beginning which is although goading but as well a bit too little. XXXChange's "Wow! Double Wow!" would be a much better opening. The beats and the tune sound very very nice and have lots of alterations. Exactly the same applies to "'Till The Wheels Fall Off" by Z-Trip. Then "fall/rise" (TG) is nearly the same as "follow none". Thus more fall than rise. That's disappointing and unnecessary. "Magic Magnetic Radio" (XC) sounds very out of place. The futuristic atmosphere doesn't really fit to the rest of the album. But it's still a good track. Fortunately "King Taco" (ZT) brings back the right vibes. It feels like a high spirits song mixed with Hip Hop. And "everyone under the sun" (TG) continues successful.

"3 Piece" (ZT) ups the ante! A fast rhythm, a fantastic tune and an awesome beat make you dynamic. "Grow A New Body" has a strong beat but becomes too fast too boring because there's not much variety in it. "Dub Rocks" (ZT) doesn't really rock and sounds more like made for lyrics. That's why it palls very quick. So it's easy for "el alto el fuego" (TG) to lift the spirits. Nice Funk mixed with Latin elements sounds not only good but it's also very encouraging. "Snake Eyes" (ZT) reminds to Storm by Yoshida Brothers (listen on YouTube!). It sounds great and it showes once again, that every instrument can rock. "Everything's Spinning" (XC) sounds very futuristic again but this time it's more melodious. "Devastation" (ZT) arrives as a good continuation to "Snake Eyes" and with "d.i.y" (TG) comes the only calm track. "(can I get) a piece of peace" (TG) is a simple gap filler. The ending "808 Method" (ZT) sounds although nice but it's a weak ending. What a shame.

The score fits perfectly to the game. The Hip Hop, Funk, Latin and futuristic elements sound good and arrange lots of variety. Assuredly it has some pearls but in the end there're just too many unspectacular tracks. Apart from that it's a great soundtrack for the everyday life. You can listen to it everywhere because it suits to lots of situations. That's a big plus factor. So listen to it and enjoy your day!

OST-Pursuer
I tried this one before reading a review and it was a surprise to see that some nice tracks are stated as bad ones here. But at least I also liked Devastation much...
