Is this soundtrack a nightmare?

Review:

Fahrenheit's score opens up with its "Main Title" which is very harmonical and melancholic. You know immediately in which kind of genre this soundtrack will go. "Fahrenheit" sends you to definitely into its discomforting, cold world. "New York City" welcomes you with a mix of deadness and imminence, which "Under Control" boosted immense! So that it feels now like a nightmare. "Do Something Now" and "Better Now" are strong connected to a situation in the game. That's why they sound a bit incongruous here. "Carlas Main Theme" scores as the first track with the first warm undertone. A little ray of hope in this cold scenario. Unfortunately the next track "Investigation" is a simply gap filler. Only now "The Witness" brings it off to bring you back to right path.

"Its Time To Leave" inspires the next really minatory feeling but "Lucas Main Theme" neutralizes this effect. So "And now" feels like a delay. With "Markus Call" comes at last a short melodious track after a long dry spell. The tracks "In The Park" and "Talking To Markus" are gap fillers again. "Chapters End" rescues you to sleep. And than the nightmare arrives its first highpoint. "Lucas At Work" surprises as a very strong track and "Visions Aggression" marks the very first hightpoint of the score. "Escape Or Fight" continoues very good with its dramaturgy. "Something Useful" is again an unwanted gap filler. "No Time To Lose", "Point Of View" and "Face To Facemark" mark the second dry spell. After this unnecessary part there comes the big long expected final. "Fighting The Oracle" is exactly the ending you wanted to hear. Great! The "Ending" rounds it up very nice and you are happy that you've endured this nightmare.

Game Music Hall Score: 7,1

This soundtrack is just capable at lonely evenings. It's very depressing because you really feel like in a nightmare. The atmosphere is just great. But watch out that you don't drift off! The dry spells and gap fillers are long. But if you like melancholic and minatory touched soundtracks then you should chances a look. For all the others which are full of life: hands off!!!
